Predicting The Top 5 Kitchen Color Trends of 2023

January 30, 2023
Professionals in the paint color industry believe you can expect nature-inspired colors to be popular this year.

Blush Beige

While the colors of nature are a big inspiration this year, it's not all boring shades of brown and tan. "Homeowners are seeking the feeling of warmth and comfort in their homes," says Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams. Blush-beige can transform your kitchen into a comfortable and cozy yet energizing space for your family to spend time.

Dark Green

Patrick O’Donnell, color consultant and international brand ambassador for Farrow & Ball, doesn’t believe that bold colors are going anywhere this year. "Dark colors are still proving immensely popular, and none more than our blackest green," he says. The bold shade is representative of a dark, veiled forest, making you feel closer to nature. Dark green "will work a treat in a modern urban kitchen and also bring character to a more rural farmhouse style kitchen," O’Donnell says.

Classic and Cozy White

Clean, warm, and a staple color in most homes. White and off-white paint colors offer a blank canvas, allowing you to layer in color through your appliances and other accessories you want in your kitchen.

Warm Taupe

Bold colors aren’t the only popular option. People are also moving toward warmer colors in their kitchens. Bring a blush of color to the space, contributing an organic warmth without being too yellow or saturated.

Dusty Pink

A color making a surprising push into kitchens right now is gentle, soft pink. Not neon or bubble gum pink but a much more elegant and sophisticated shade.  Pink is a color that promotes tranquility and healing. Dusty light pinks are the perfect way to add a glow to a room.
